Award-Winning Hair Stylist | Film & Television Industry

Hi, my name is Stephanie Ingram, and I am a professional hair stylist in the film industry. My journey in hairstyling started at a young age, though I didn’t initially realize it would become my lifelong career. My father owned a salon, and I grew up immersed in the world of hairstyling, practicing from an early age.

At 17, I attended my father’s cosmetology school for nine months, where I honed my craft. When he moved to another city, I took over his clientele—many of whom had been with him for 25 years. It was a challenge stepping into his shoes, but those years of perfecting pin curls, finger waves, roller sets, perms, and haircuts gave me a strong foundation in my craft.

My career in the film industry began in 1990 when I moved to Toronto and earned my hairstyling license for the province. I started as an assistant on a TV series, and by the following season, I was offered the role of Head of the Hair Department, thanks to the support of a generous makeup artist who vouched for me. That opportunity set the stage for a career that has spanned over 35 years in the industry.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with many talented actors, and since 2019, I have worked exclusively with Jessica Chastain. Our collaboration has been an incredible experience, and I am honored to have contributed to over 20 of her films.

In 2022, my work on *The Eyes of Tammy Faye* earned me an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a Hollywood Critics Association Award, and a Critics Choice Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. To this day, I am still in awe of receiving such prestigious recognition for my craft.
